It’s perhaps worth mentioning that the shot is not posed- the person who happened to be sitting next to me at the ceremony folded the crane and balanced it on his programme. All I did was take the opportunity to take the photo.

The water used in the making of Hakubotan sake, available for the taking outside the brewery.
Just as I’d opened the shutter for this shot (a minute-long exposure), someone came along to fill bottles. They apologised for what they saw as their having spoiled the shot; personally, I think they add to the photograph…
